Why you should choose our apprenticeships
We’re committed to your success
Unlock your potential with our diverse apprenticeship programmes. With years of experience and strong connections with local businesses, we’re dedicated to helping you find the perfect employer-fit for your career path.
We are proud to specialise in two key areas: Professional & Commercial Services and Early Years & Education.
What are the benefits of an apprenticeship at Totton College?
- Hands-on approach to learning. If you prefer a real-world approach, backed up with knowledge gained through training, an apprenticeship is a great option. Our programmes use a blended approach, which means some sessions are taught remotely through Teams, and others are delivered in college or in the workplace.
- Personalised experience. Because your programme is a partnership between you, your assessor and your employer, you can create a personalised programme that suits your learning style. This tailored approach is the best way to gain the skills, knowledge and behaviours you need to succeed.
- Support throughout your apprenticeship. As we’re a smaller provider, we know all our apprentices individually and we get to know our employers really well too. We’re proud of the supportive environment we’ve created to help you achieve your goals. We keep in touch, monitor your progress and support both you and your employer throughout your apprenticeship.
- Earn as you learn. As an apprentice, you’ll be treated like a normal member of your employer’s team, with a salary and benefits. This means you can continue to develop your skills and qualifications, while earning money. Plus, as the cost of your qualification is covered by the government or your employer, you don’t need to pay for your apprenticeship programme.
- Learn real-life skills. As well as qualifications, you’ll gain the skills, knowledge and behaviours you need to be successful in your career, higher education and real life! Many of the skills you’ll acquire such as problem-solving and communicating with stakeholders are valuable “employability” skills, and transferable to other employers and industries.
- We’re committed to your success. We are proud of our 100% success rate across all our apprenticeship programmes. Everyone who has gone through EPA achieved at least a pass grade* with many achieving distinctions. Our apprentices have gone on to universities to study for degrees or have been offered positions with their current or new employers. Apprentices at Totton College have participated in London Fashion Week, become registered managers within the care industry and been promoted to become a bid writer within the Ministry of Defence.
