The students within Totton’s Skills for Life programme recently celebrated their incredible achievements this year with an end-of-year graduation. The balloons, disco lights and music were much deserved after a year of hard work.
The event was held at Hanger Farm Arts Centre where the students enjoyed dancing with friends and staff at a disco followed by a BBQ lunch. In the weeks leading up to the event, students had put their song choices in a box so the afternoon’s playlist consisted of their favourite music. Proud parents and carers were invited to see tutors presenting their classes with end of year certificates.
Carol Palmer, Skills for Life Faculty Manager, acknowledged five students that have worked exceptionally hard this year in the categories of: Male Student of the Year, Female Student of the Year, Best Attendance, Above and Beyond, and Inspirational and Courageous. The winners received trophies in an exciting prize-giving ceremony.
Carol summed up the day: “The students had worked incredibly hard this year, and I wanted to organise a party that celebrated this. It was an emotional afternoon for all who attended. We were so pleased to see a full house at Hanger Farm of parents and carers – it truly was a lovely occasion for students to enjoy the party and receive their prizes!”
Well done again to all students for another fantastic year!
