Totton College staff take part in Inflatable Fun Run to raise funds for a Magic Carpet

Staff from Totton College’s Skills for Life Department are to run 5k and 10k Inflatable Fun Run this June in Bournemouth, to raise funds for specialist equipment to support the educational needs of Totton College’s Skills for Life students.

The Inflatable Fun Run route contains fifteen challenging obstacles making it one of the toughest and largest inflatable courses and includes The Temple of Doom and The Vortex. The team have been training tirelessly over the last few months to build their stamina in preparation for the event.

All funds raised will go towards specialist equipment to support the learning and development of the Skills for Life students at the College. The Magic Carpet is an interactive tool which projects different activities for students onto a large space. This enables learners to engage in a variety of literacy, numeracy and music-based activities, designed to cater to their individual needs.

Totton College Skills for Life teacher, Camilla Young, who has organised the fundraiser said:

“The training sessions have been tough, to build up to the run we have been adding an extra kilometre each week, but getting ready for the Inflatable Fun Run has been amazing. As a team, we will all proudly be wearing our Totton College t-shirts on the 1st of June in the run. The Magic Carpet is an amazing piece of interactive equipment, and after the demo, we can see how beneficial it will be to our department and learners.”
