Welcome to Pinecones Day Nursery, a purpose-built facility located on the Totton College campus, designed to provide high-quality childcare and early education. We cater to young children from 3 months old until they are ready to start school.
Rooms tailored to different age-groups
Our nursery features specially designed baby rooms for infants from 3 months to 2 years, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment tailored to the developmental needs of the youngest in our care. For children over 2 years old, we have a large, open room that facilitates a wide range of activities geared towards their growth and development. This space is perfect for energetic toddlers and preschoolers to explore, learn, and play.
Interactive and engaging learning spaces
In addition to age-specific rooms, we offer a unique construction room complete with a sandpit that is accessible to all children. This area encourages imaginative play and is a favourite among our attendees, allowing them to construct, create, and collaborate in a hands-on learning environment. Our gardens further enhance our outdoor learning, providing children with the opportunity to interact with nature and engage in physical activities.
The Curiosity Approach to early education
At Pinecones Day Nursery, we are proud to implement the Curiosity Approach method of teaching and learning. This innovative educational philosophy uses resources and activities designed to ignite curiosity and foster a lifelong love of learning in children. By encouraging exploration and wonder about the world around them, we help develop confident, creative, and resilient learners. We are also in the process of achieving our Curiosity Approach Accreditation, a testament to our commitment to providing exceptional early childhood education.
