 At Totton College, we provide a variety of dedicated spaces around the campus tailored to both individual and group study needs, ensuring that every student has the ideal environment for support and academic success. 

Project areas for collaborative learning

Our project areas are specifically designed for group work, such as projects or presentations. These spaces offer a large working area separate from the usual classroom settings, allowing groups to practice and refine their techniques and presentations.  

‘Break out’ areas for focused study

For those who prefer solitude, our ‘break out’ areas are equipped with PCs and printers, making them ideal for independent study. These areas are designated as quiet zones, providing a distraction-free environment where you can concentrate on your studies, delve into research, or write assignments without interruption. 

Enhanced support for student success

In addition to physical study spaces, all students have access to weekly one-to-one progression coaching sessions. During these meetings, you can discuss the steps necessary to achieve your academic and career goals, receiving personalised guidance and encouragement. 

Comprehensive learning support

Our Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) are committed to aiding students both inside and outside the classroom. Whether it’s help with assignment writing, developing research skills, understanding assignment briefs, mastering notetaking, or acquiring effective revision techniques, our LSAs are here to support your educational journey. This team is equipped to handle a wide range of academic needs, ensuring you have the tools and knowledge to succeed.
