Entry requirements
You’ll need an Entry 3 qualification in any subject. You will need to provide evidence of your past education.
How you will be assessed
You will be assessed through a combination of portfolio evidence, practical tasks and statements from teachers.
How to apply
Skills for Life is a dedicated SEND specialist department for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Our Skills for Life team supports students throughout their academic journey, preparing them for adulthood, employment and/or independent living.
Our courses are suitable for students with an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP).
Courses are discussed during the application and enrolment process and are progression routes are reviewed as part of the annual review process each year. When deciding on the right course for the student, we consider the students’ prior qualifications and courses, academic ability, and social skills.

Funding and bursaries
Students if you’re aged over 19 you may be eligible for free tuition depending on the course you want to study, your existing qualifications and your financial circumstances. For more information email info@totton.ac.uk or call 023 8087 4874.
Advanced Learner Loans are available for students who are aged 19 or over. Repayments do not begin until the course is completed and you are earning £25,000 or over.
