Entry requirements
For Level 1 you will need GCSEs at grade 1 or equivalent.
What will I learn?
The course is intended to support students to develop:
Independence and fundamental employability skills
Independent study skills and learning to be part of a team
Enhance communication and organisational skills
Develop appropriate social interaction skills
You’ll also be able to study a vocation of your choice once a week, in areas such as sport, care, media, health and beauty, music or hospitality and catering.
Work Experience
You’ll do internal and external work experience within areas of interest.

Assessment
You’ll produce a portfolio of evidence which may include photographs and observation. The units are internally assessed and externally moderated.
Enrichment Opportunities
You’ll be able to take part in activities, both on and off the college site, like sports, trips and visits, and there are plenty of clubs in our enrichment programme that you can join.
Career and Progression
You’ll be able to progress to a Level 2 course in your chosen vocation.
You’ll also be able to go into employment or further training – traineeship, supported internship or apprenticeship.
Funding and bursaries

Advanced Learner Loans are available for students who are aged 19 or over. Repayments do not begin until the course is completed and you are earning £25,000 or over.
