Our Life, Independence and Social Skills (LISS) Entry Level 2 course is designed to help you build the independence skills you’re seeking through a multi-sensory approach.

We will provide you with the help and support to communicate, even if your communication skills are limited. We’ll ensure each day provides the structure and learning you need to support your ambitions. You’ll be encouraged and supported to make meaningful choices, while learning a range of everyday skills.

Who is this course for?

For students who want to become more independent, but have limited communication skills and require higher levels of support.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are required and we’ll discuss your individual needs at interview. How you will be assessed You will be assessed through a combination of portfolio evidence, practical tasks and statements from teachers.

How to apply

Skills for Life is a dedicated SEND specialist department for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Our Skills for Life team supports learners throughout their academic journey, preparing them for adulthood, employment and/or independent living.

Our courses are suitable for students with an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP).

Courses are discussed during the application and enrolment process and are progression routes are reviewed as part of the annual review process each year. When deciding on the right course for the student, we consider the students’ prior qualifications and courses, academic ability, and social skills.
