If you’re interested in a career in the hair and beauty sectors and are aged 14-16, this course is for you. You’ll learn then basics required for a future in either industry, as well as health and safety requirements and the science behind treatments and services.

Entry requirements

All learners need to be enrolled at a school. The school needs to support your application and then you’ll be offered an interview by our college team. You don’t need any prior experience or qualifications, but a keen interest in the subject is desired.

You’ll be assessed through written and practical assessments and tasks.

Career and Progression

Most learners move onto a Level 2 course in hair or beauty, or go onto do an apprenticeship. Achieving a Level 2 or above can lead to a career in a number of areas, such as salons, spas or even cruise ships.

 

Funding and bursaries

Advanced Learner Loans are available for students who are aged 19 or over. Repayments do not begin until the course is completed and you are earning £25,000 or over.
