Our Futures Entry 2 course is designed to guide and support you to move to your next step.

We’ll provide you with opportunities to explore and experience life and work skills in order to progress to day services or other provision. You’ll visit various places and people within the community via our links with local day service providers and community groups helping you to develop your communication and personal skills.

For those students who want to improve their life skills and learn how to make meaningful choices.

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications are required and we’ll discuss your individual needs at interview.

How you will be assessed

You will be assessed through a combination of portfolio evidence, practical tasks and statements from teachers.

 

How to apply

Skills for Life is a dedicated SEND specialist department for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Our Skills for Life team supports learners throughout their academic journey, preparing them for adulthood, employment and/or independent living.

Our courses are suitable for students with an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP).

Courses are discussed during the application and enrolment process and are progression routes are reviewed as part of the annual review process each year. When deciding on the right course for the student, we consider the students’ prior qualifications and courses, academic ability, and social skills.

Funding and bursaries

Students if you’re aged over 19 you may be eligible for free tuition depending on the course you want to study, your existing qualifications and your financial circumstances. For more information email info@totton.ac.uk or call 023 8087 4874.

Advanced Learner Loans are available for students who are aged 19 or over. Repayments do not begin until the course is completed and you are earning £25,000 or over. Eligible learners will be enrolling on a level 3 or above course and are a UK or EU national. For further information, visit gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan.
