Benjamyn Martin, a Level 3 Progress to Work/Life student has working hard to learn key skills to prepare him for life outside of college and in the working world. Benjamyn has been focused on improving his social skills, as well as his Maths and English through crucial problem-solving, clear communication, and everyday tasks positioning him for success in his career and personal life.

Benjamyn Martin added:

On my course at Totton College, I learn about our local community, how to access places like our local library and how to live independently. We also learn social skills, maths, English, enrichment activities and even Fitness!

What makes it special for me is the company of my friends and teachers. I often head out into the community, going to new places and meeting new people and I think my lessons are actually amazing.

I’ve worked hard to achieve my goals, and I’m more confident than ever before, I’m going to be moving on to a placement at Hanger Farm with Minstead Training Trust after college.

If I had advice for a new student coming to Totton College, I’d say: believe in yourself and others. It makes a world of difference.

In the future, I would like to work in the café at Hanger Farm.”
